what is included/excluded in a humanities framing system, and what is/isn't technology.

I thought humanities encompasses these things like english and art and music and what is generally labeled as satisfying the HU requirement in the LSA Course Guide. Then after thinking about it, I think humanities is (to be cliche) what makes us "human". So really I think it is the "creative" things we do, and even things like medical images have been used as "art" (i saw this in the airport in san diego this summer).

as for technology i would say that this is one of those things that is relative to the times. computers are technology to us, but language is not generally considered technology in 2008 because it has been around for so long that it ceases to be "new".

What is the role of access in determining these boundaries?

I'm not really sure what this means.... where if access determines the way we consider these things. for example if we didnt have access to ink pens and suddenly we do (even though the rest of the world has had ink pens for a really long time) then they are "technology" ???

project [although i'm not really sure what falls well into this category]

i think i want to do something with paper cranes, and my paper crane project idea.
