went on a break for a bit... but yay here is my project map
not good pictures but the point is just to be able to see it...
people are not super receptive on the whole... so for now i'm just going to make a ton and put them out and see if people will pick them up? (although my pessimistic side says most of them will go to the trash, or recycling since it's ann arbor).
past that, for now i'm going to work on the "artistic" side of this and just make pretty images (which translates to photo projects)

What a pity that people have not been super receptive so far —why do you think that is?
And were you surprised?
Do you have any strategies planned that you think might be able to increase receptivity?
You might find this site, Learning to Love You More of use/interest —granted; much there is related to class assignments, but these assignments also seem able to inspire a more lasting receptivity to forming the kinds of connections and embracing the kind of interactions your paper crane project demands/deserves.
Glad to see your project coming along. Perhaps you will want to examine why you want a certain response from people in order to believe that the project is successful. If the project is too dependent on other people's responses to measure the success than it is doomed to failure. Perhaps thinking along the lines of the Where's George dollar bills. Leave the crane, with a number code on the underside of the wing and a website. They can see where the crane has been, and then leave it somewhere else for another person to find. A chain created by people leaving in random places. You could track on a map where the cranes have traveled. This might get more people engaged in the project, and lead to an outcome that helps you feel more pleased with the outcome.
Regardless of what direction the project takes, recognize you are taking an act to send a message of peace. More than most people are doing these days! Best of luck, and I hope you don't mind my rambling thoughts....
